Steps We Take To Produce The Perfect Event |

A typical DJ or Agency will quote you a rate based on performance time only and tell you what you need without ever asking you. But as you will soon see, there is a lot more time and effort involved in planning, personalizing and performing a perfect reception. We take a more consultative approach, asking questions and listening to your needs. Only by working in this fashion can we meet and exceed your needs and expectations. Below are the steps that we will take for you to plan and perform that unique event your looking for.
Initial Consultation: Approx 1 hour. This is where we first meet to find out about what it is that you are looking for. I'll ask you to describe the overall vision of your perfect event and then discuss with you how we will be able to achieve that vision.
Full Planning session: Approx 2-4 hours. Approximately 4 to 6 weeks before your event we will meet with you to go over the details of the day. This is the point where we will ask even more questions about your likes and dislikes, about your friends and family, and about you so that we can not only customize your event but personalize it.
Site Appointment: Approx ½ - 1 ½ hours. By going out to the actual reception site we will be able to insure a smooth and trouble free setup for your event. If we've been to your location before a call to your banquet manager will be placed to let him know that we are "on the job" as your Entertainment Director and that we will be keeping all the vendors informed of the days activities.
Agenda Preperation: Approx 2 hours. Taking everything that we have learned about you, your desires and your event details we will produce an agenda for the day. We will also contact all the main vendors (Photo, Video, Banquet) to send a copy to them as well as personally go over the events with them.
Music Research: Approx ½ - 1 hour. Lets not forget we need to make sure we have all your favorites on hand and if not we need to go and get them! In rare cases we may ask you for a copy if we are unable to obtain a selection.
Setup/Breakdown: 3-4 hours. We typically will arrive 1 ½ to 2 hours before your event to make sure the setup phase goes smoothly and is not rushed.
Performance: 4-6 hours or more! Lets not forget the main reason were here! We're here to perform your perfect event and make all this planning pay off! And we often bring an additional person to help us make the day go as smoothly as possible.
The point of this illustration is to show you that properly planning and performing your event can take as little as 13 hours to as much as 20 hours or more, and that's not even factoring in travel time and all the extra little things behind the scenes that you may not see us do! So please be aware of other DJ's who quote primarily on performance time only, you may not be getting all that you should.
